The Water Words: First Wave

The Water Words: First Wave by Jessica Hecket

There was something, something wonderful across the Sea. In a land marked by hardship and war, only a few dared to hope that there was something greater on the other side of the great water: a land of Light and Spirit. Shrouded from view the Other Shore had fallen from the memory of man, until now.

“The water speaks, for the water remembers.”

For Aylia the dreams had come first, but that was just the beginning. Soon the water itself began to speak to her, to tell her about the Other Shore, and reveal the mysteries of the Deep.
Aylia is the first of a handful of young Sea Folk who begin to show promise in hearing and revealing the world of light that lay beyond the waves of the turbulent Sea. And because of their potential, the Darkness that holds the Shore of men Searches them out and seeks to mark them for death.
